16 Apr 09 Discount available for domestic ratepayers
A 4% discount is available to all Northern Ireland domestic ratepayers if they pay their rate bill in full by 5 May.
Payment must be received and credited to rate accounts by this date - five working days should be allowed for the payment to be received.
A spokesman for Land & Property Services explained: “Rate bills can be paid in full by cheque, cash or debit card at any post office, bank or building society.
“Direct Debit is the most flexible way to pay. If customers have already signed up to pay the 2009/10 rate bill in full by direct debit, the payment will be taken from accounts on May 7 (not on May 5). Such Direct Debit customers will still receive the discount.”
Those who choose to pay their bill in instalments will not be eligible for a discount.
For the full range of payment methods visit Land and Property Services website.
